Original Hand-carved Shina Woodblock with Oil-based Ink
Over the course of two months I first sketched the image from reference photos due to the pandemic travel restrictions. Then I hand-carved the white of the image out and printed it.
The Seven Sisters in Norway are named for the seven waterfalls seen cascading down the fjords. These isolated communities were fishing communities that would dry from the wooden structures.
